Hazlet, NJ - Sandra Lordi died peacefully at home surrounded by her family in Hazlet on March 11 at the age of 88.
Sandra was pre-deceased in 2020 by George, her loving husband of almost 57 years and her brothers Raymond and Michael. She is survived by her sister Patti Cadamatre and her husband John, her three children and their spouses Gina and Scott Pignataro, Lisa and Robert Rafalko, and Michael and Jackie Lordi. Sandra was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Tyler, Aidan, Cameron, Jordan, Avery, James and Noelle, 2 great-grandchildren Nathaniel and Maya, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Sandra was born on October 16, 1936, in Kearny NJ, to Ray and Mae Richardson. After graduating from Kearny High School, she worked as a buyer in the meat industry where she met and fell in love with her future husband George, getting married in 1963.
A dedicated and loving mother, Sandra moved to Avenel, NJ where, along with George, she raised their three children amongst their many friends in the neighborhood, enjoying many summer get-togethers with family and neighbors. An avid reader, especially Agatha Christie novels, Sandra spent many years volunteering in the schools as a librarian, PTO and school parent to be closer to her children. Sandra and George moved to Florida once they retired, spending 8 years in Pt. Charlotte, FL before returning to New Jersey where they enjoyed their shared love of family and the Jersey Shore for the remainder of their time together. Sandra especially enjoyed her time as a member of the Holiday City West Women’s Club and her time with her teammates as a member of the bocce league.
Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730 was entrusted with Sandra's funeral arrangements. With the best interests of family & friends at heart, a celebration of Sandra and George’s life together will be held at a later date.
