Russell V. Gerlach

Russell Vincent Gerlach, 74, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. He was born on February 12, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Vincent and Mary (Chaisson) Gerlach, he than moved to Hazlet, New Jersey in 1998. Russell was a proud veteran of the Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. He held the position of Vice President of the Private Banking Division at JP Morgan for over 30 years in Manhattan, New York. He enjoyed watching all sports, he was an avid fan of the Jets, the New York Mets, the Rangers, the Knicks, and the Dodgers. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, who fondly called him “Pop Pop”. He was a hardworking man. Russell’s life was built around loving his wife, Margaret. He devoted his life to his family as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Mary (Chaisson) Gerlach, and his devoted wife, Margaret (Donnelly) Gerlach. Russell is survived by his loving children, Donna Morabito and her husband, John, Beth Gerlach and her partner, Brian “Holtsy” Holtslander, Kelly Gerlach and her husband, Jimmy, and Sean Gerlach and his partner, Bernadetta, his dear brother, Dennis Gerlach, and his brother-in-law, Eugene Donnelly. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Makayla, Anthony, Aiden, Paige, Tyler, Taylor, Francesca, Benjamin, and Annalise, along with one on the way. Russell will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM and Thursday morning, May 12, 2022, from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday morning, May 12, 2022, at 10:30 AM at The Catholic Church of St. Ann, 311 Carr Avenue, Keansburg, New Jersey 07734.  Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C.
