Roy Cadoo Sr. Obituary

Roy J. Cadoo Sr., a man of selflessness and love, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by the love of his family at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey. Born on July 29, 1946, in Red Bank, New Jersey, Roy's life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness and dedication. He departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of friendship and service that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Roy's journey began as the son of the late James H. and Elizabeth “Libby” (Gleaton) Cadoo, and from an early age, he exhibited the friendly and loving nature that would become his hallmark. His life was forever changed when he met his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann (Nuti) Cadoo. Their love story was very special, culminating in a marriage on February 4, 1967, that would flourish for 58 wonderful years.

Professionally, Roy dedicated many years to Verizon in Keyport, New Jersey, including acting as a Union representative. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who worked alongside him. However, it was his passion for community service that truly defined him. Roy was a dedicated lifelong volunteer fireman, serving both the Keyport Fire Department and Eagle Hose Company #4 with unwavering commitment. In 1993, he reached the pinnacle of his volunteer career when he was honored to serve as Fire Chief, a role he embraced with the same courage and dignity that he applied to every aspect of his life. When not working or serving his community Roy enjoyed his family, cooking, stock car racing, hunting, RVing for many years and playing poker.

Roy's family was the center of his universe. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary Ann, his cherished daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Brad Lowrey, of Union Beach, New Jersey. His grandchildren, Max Lowrey, Brady Lowrey, Nicholas Cadoo and caring sister, Allene Campbell of Maryland, will hold dear the memory of his boundless love and support.

Roy's daughter, Robin, fondly refers to her father as "unapologetically authentic”. He was a man who faced his many medical challenges with both courage and dignity; surviving mutliple bouts with cancers and Muscular Dystrophy. Roy lived his life with a genuine desire to help others. His friendly demeanor made him quick to make friends, and his selfless nature meant he was always there for those in need.

As a devoted son, husband, father, "Poppy", and brother, Roy's absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully. His life was a living example of the values he held dear, and those who had the privilege of knowing him will continue to be inspired by the memories of his warm smile, his hearty laugh, his unwavering integrity and patriotism for his beloved country.

Roy, will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten. His legacy of love, friendship, and service will endure, a comforting presence in the hearts of all who were touched by his extraordinary life.

In respect of Roy’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.
