Rose L. Nabel

Rose L. Nabel, 94, of Southampton, New York, passed away at Bayshore Medical Center on July 25, 2025. Rose was a summer resident of North Sea since 1954, she always called it home. As a young woman, Rose realized that a Brooklyn apartment was no place for kids to spend during the summer months. Rose and her husband Oscar, in their younger years, saved every nickel and dime they had and bought a property in North Sea. The land back then was only $500 for a 50 X 100, which was perfect for them. Throughout the early years, Rose and Oscar spent hammer in hand and they built their memories of love.

Rose’s favorite thing was to go clamming, get scungilli “conch” and go crabbing. With these gifts from the sea, she would cook up the most delicious sauces and salads; she would freeze some and  cook up the traditional Seven Fishes for Christmas Eve. Even at 94, she renewed her shellfish license just weeks ago. Rose also enjoyed spending time on the beach with family and good friends. At night she would drink coffee with everyone, build a fire and talk the night away while the children would run free and play games.

Rose is predeceased by her parents, Nicola and Maria (Corribolo) Stoppelli, her beloved husband of 56 years, Oscar Robert Nabel and her sister Lydia Merone. She is survived by her children, Nicholas Nabel and his wife Rita and Maryann Nabel-Pezza and her husband Larry. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Manda Hampton, Robert Nabel and his wife Neha, Andrew Pezza and Nicholas Nabel and his wife Ashley, her great-grandchildren, Emma Hampton, Alyana Hampton and Jasmine Nabel.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday July 30, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday July 31, 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway 35 Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday July 31, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Church of Saint Ann, 311 Carr Ave Keansburg, New Jersey. Following mass, the Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.
