Rocco J. Cavallo, of Keyport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Rocco was born on March 29, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up and raised his family. On June 15, 1984. Rocco and his wife, Maureen, were married and began their life together. Shortly after marriage they moved to the Highlands and in the early 1990’s moved to Keyport, New Jersey.
Before retirement, Rocco was a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 50 years. He also owned a retail variety store in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn with his brother, Frank, for many years called Ridge Variety Store. In addition, Rocco was a proud United States Navy Veteran, serving our country during World War II.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Maria (Curcio) Cavallo, his first wife and mother of his children, Grace (Neville) Cavallo, his stepdaughter, Linda Scott and 9 dear brothers and sisters. Rocco is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Maureen (Titus) Cavallo, his loving children, Thomas Cavallo and his wife, Dina, of Brooklyn, New York, Maria McQuillan and her husband, Mark, from New City, New York, Laura Tendler and her husband, Arthur, of Middletown, New Jersey and Robert Cavallo of Brooklyn, New York. Rocco also leaves behind his dear stepdaughter, Sandra Scott of Florida and his cherished grandchildren, David Tendler, Michael McQuillan and his wife, Kaitlin, Sharon Tendler, Nicole Tendler, Amanda McQuillan, Matthew Tendler, Alyssa McQuillan, Nicholas McQuillan and Angelina Mazzeo.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday morning, September 12, 2020 from 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 376 Maple Place, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.
