Robert Wyatt Sr., fondly known as “Pop”, passed away peacefully on Aril 27, 2024 at the NJ Veterans Home at Menlo Park. He was 92 years old. Bob was born and raised in Newark, NJ and graduated from Newark High School. From there he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a proud combat veteran of the Korean Conflict. After his active service duty, he met and married the love of his life, Patricia, and they were married for 66 years. Soon after being married, he moved his family to Hazlet, NJ where he raised his three children. Following in his father’s footsteps he worked as an Operating Engineer in Local 825 where he was a Crane Operator for 38 years until his retirement in 1993.
During his retirement years he enjoyed working outside around the house and playing golf, but most of all spending time with his 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Ann (Lacey) Wyatt, daughter Susan Scales and son-in-law and Rob Scales. He is survived by his loving daughter, Cathy Roche, his adoring son, Robert Wyatt Jr. and his wife, Cristina, cherished grandchildren, Michael Wyatt, John Roch, Jessica Roche, Brian Wyatt and Leah Vitale and great grand-children Madison, Mike, Jordan, John, Camille and Cory.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday morning, April 30, 2024, from 9:15 to 10:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning, April 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at The Catholic Church of St. Ann, 311 Carr Avenue, Keansburg, New Jersey 07734. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Bob to NJ Veterans Home Menlo Park, 132 Evergreen Road, Edison, NJ 08818-3013, would be greatly appreciated.
