It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert S. Staugaitis on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. Bobby was surrounded by family during his final moments, a life cut short.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, on March 2, 1965, to Constance and Frank Staugaitis, Bobby was raised in Irvington, New Jersey. He attended Augusta Street School and went on to Essex Catholic Boys High School in Newark, where he developed a passion for football and community service. During this time, he volunteered with the Irvington Rescue Squad, a reflection of his lifelong commitment to helping others.
Bobby later moved to South Jersey, where he continued that commitment by beginning his career as an EMT with Hackensack Meridian. He was a trainer and mentor. Bobby was proud to work alongside a dedicated team who fondly called him “Stags.” His colleagues remember him for his compassion, calm under pressure, and sense of humor.
Outside of work, Bobby enjoyed the outdoors and had a passion for hiking, attending air shows, and admiring antique locomotives.
Let us remember Bobby for his unwavering kindness, his warm sense of humor, and his thoughtful spirit that touched the lives of so many. His presence brought joy, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts
He is survived by his twin sister, Cynthia and her husband Michael Kilker, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Fantazier-Staugaitis, in 2013.
In respect of Robert’s wishes, he will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, from 3:00PM to 6:00PM and a Memorial Service on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, from 10:45 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35N, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
