Robert Sisko Obituary

Robert Sisko, 80, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away on May 24, 2026. He was born on January 20, 1946, in East Orange, New Jersey, and lived a life marked by devotion, service, and love for his family.

Robert was born in East Orange and raised in Newark and spent his early years surrounded by the places and people that helped shape the man he became. In 1950, he lived in Keansburg, returned to Newark for the duration of twelve years, and later built a home and a life in Hazlet, where he and his beloved wife raised their family after moving there in 1988. On August 28, 1976, he married the love of his life, Louise, and together they shared 50 years of marriage filled with commitment, companionship, and enduring affection.

A proud veteran, Robert served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. During his service, he worked closely with radar and radio communications, and his technical skill and dedication carried into his later work. He transitioned from the Navy to the Marine Communications Industry. He was employed as a retired Chief Satellite Engineer for The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) for 15 years, a career that reflected both his work ethic and his ability to adapt to the changing demands of his profession. His experience also included work alongside NASA and Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), where he contributed to satellite engineering and communications with pride and precision.

Robert was a loving man whose greatest joy came from the people he cherished most. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Marra) Sisko; his children, Robert Sisko and Ryan Sisko and his wife Ciaran; his grandchildren, Corra Sisko, Violet Sisko, Keller Sisko, Phillip Sisko, and Isabella Trumper; his great-grandchildren, Jack, Gianna, and Cecilia; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry his memory forward with love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen Michael and Nellie A. (LaPeusz) Sisko, and by his brother, Stephen, and Stephen’s wife, Kay Sisko.

Robert will be remembered for his loving nature, his steady presence, and the quiet strength he brought to every part of his life. He enjoyed day trading, model building, financial planning, and watching television with family, pastimes that reflected both his curiosity and his thoughtful approach to the world around him. Those who knew him will remember a man who was dependable, caring, and deeply devoted to the people and routines that gave his life meaning.

His family and friends will forever treasure the memories of his kindness, his humor, and the example he set through a life of service and dedication. Robert Sisko leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, hard work, and commitment to family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In respect of Robert’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.  Robert will be entombed at Brigadier General William C.
