Robert Metelski

We are heartbroken to announce that Bobby Metelski, 59, of Union Beach, New Jersey, passed away on May 28th, 2025, surrounded by his friends and family. Bobby spent his life listening to Heavy Metal, riding motorcycles, drinking whiskey, doing the right thing, providing, protecting, showing up for anyone who needed him, cracking skulls when he had to, and being a stand-up, simple, patriotic, hard-working, fun-loving American.

Bobby didn’t care what job you had, where you came from or what you looked like. He saw everyone as equal. He was his honest self to anyone lucky enough to shake his hand. He did everything with pride. He lived a life of honor and loyalty. He was a good man.

Bobby is survived by his wife Caitriona—whom he loved faithfully and completely, and his children Kyle and Jocelyn—who were his proudest achievement. He also leaves behind his brother Joseph Metelski and sister Jodi George, his beloved dogs Meabh, Roisin,  grandpuppy Jax, as well as an extended family and a large band of friends who will miss him terribly.

Always a Marine, Semper Fi wasn’t just a motto to Bobby. He lived it by faithfully making himself useful to anyone who needed his help—and so it was fitting that on his last Memorial Day the decision was made to donate his organs and body back to the country he loved so much.

To the lucky recipients of those organ transplants: make Bobby proud. You are part Marine now. Act accordingly. Be steadfast, be kind, be loving, be generous, be honest. Ride a motorcycle. Shoot a gun. Maybe have a Tullamore Dew when you’re able.

Everyone is invited to visit on Saturday May 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.

After that, there will be food and drinking and crying and hugging and singing and celebrating at Maloney’s on Main. 119 Main St, Matawan, NJ 07747.
