Richard Koval Obituary

Richard A. Koval, 84, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.  Richard was born on July 1, 1937, in Hackensack, New Jersey, and grew up in Jersey City.  After marriage, Richard and his wife, Judith, started their lives together in Newark, New Jersey, where he spent most of his life.  In 2003, he relocated to Union Beach, New Jersey and in 2012 after the passing of his wife, settled in Holmdel.  Before his retirement, Richard worked for Local Union #641 as a truck driver for many years.  He was a huge fan of the NY Giants football team, NY Mets Baseball team and WWE Wrestling.  He was also a proud member of the Army National Guard.

He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Minnie (Owens) Koval, his beloved wife, Judith Koval, his siblings, Edward Koval and Joyce Kmetz, and his sister-in-law, Shirley Eckert.  Richard is survived by his children, Rick Koval, Jeffrey Koval and his wife, Tara, Kelly Duncan and her husband, Shane, Emily Koval-Disque and her husband, Roy, Tracy Saar and her husband, Dave, Michele Steel, and Kate Koval, his brothers, Robert Koval and his wife, Pauline, and Ronald Koval and his wife, Emma, his brothers-in-law, Matthew Eckert, Michael Trizna, and Walter Trizna, and his sister-in-law, Rose Koval.  Richard also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Tiphani Soucy, Robert Soucy, Faith Soucy, Stephanie Noonan, Gianna Koval, Jennifer Koval, Gia Koval, Zack Koval-Disque, Daniella Koval-Disque, and Emma Diaz, his great grandchildren, Liam Soucy, Cole Noonan, and one more great grandchild on the way, and his treasured dog, Lucky, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.  Richard will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
