Richard W. Frost, 87, of Hazlet, New Jersey passed away peacefully at Bayshore Hospital on December 2, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Keansburg, New Jersey on September 23, 1935. Richie lived in the Bayshore area his entire life. He settled in Hazlet in 1960 where he remained and raised his family. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He graduated Matawan High School, and was put in the all state Hall of Fame for his High School Football achievements. He also played Baseball and Basketball. He retired as a Rural Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service.
Richie was predeceased by his parents William and Edith (Hall) Frost, and his sister Joyce Miller. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years (November 5, 1960) Mary (Straniero) Frost, his loving son Gary W. Frost and his wife Patricia of Colts Neck, New Jersey, his cherished grandchildren Noelle, Gary R., Alexis and Timothy Frost, his step brother Carl and his wife Allison Frost of Courtland, New York and several cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, December 5, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday December 6, 2022 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc, 3269 State Route/Highway 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Saint Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey, 07733. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 360 Broadway, Keyport, New Jersey 07735 with Marine Corp Honor Services.
