Regina Agnes Pettit, 84, of Port Monmouth, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 15, 2021. She was born Regina Cassidy on September 3, 1936 in Newark, New Jersey. Prior to marriage, Jean worked at Prudential Insurance Company for many years, where she met her beloved husband, Robert. In 1962 they settled in Middletown, New Jersey, where they remained to raise their family. Jean worked for Sears department store for 20 years and most recently worked for the office of Dr. Toboku-Metzger, retiring in 2020. Jean also volunteered at the Thrift Shop at St. Catherine of Laboure Parish. Jean enjoyed traveling abroad with her girlfriends, winters in Florida with her husband, and above all else being with her family. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed immensely by all who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Julia (Dixon) Cassidy, and her beloved and devoted husband, Robert Pettit. Jean is survived by her loving children, Robert Pettit and his wife, Kimberly, of Marmora, New Jersey, Lynne Lambert and her husband, Michael, of Holmdel, New Jersey, and Michael Pettit and his wife, Johna, of Manalapan, New Jersey, her cherished grandchildren, Jenna Feldman and her husband, Bryan, Michael Lambert, Brett Lambert, Madison Pettit, Kiley Pettit, Jake Pettit, and Sean Pettit, and her adored great granddaughter, Tenley Cassidy Feldman.
Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. In respect of Jean’s wishes, she will be privately cremated. A Mass of Catholic burial will be offered for Jean on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM at The Church of St. Catherine of Laboure, 110 Bray Avenue, N. Middletown, New Jersey 07748.
