Phyllis F. Shultz

Phyllis F. Shultz, 80, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away at home on Sunday, January 9, 2022.  She was born Phyllis F. Hellegers on June 10, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland and was raised in Cranford, New Jersey.  After marriage, Phyllis and her husband, William, settled in Hazlet, New Jersey, where she has remained.  Before her retirement, Phyllis was a high school English teacher for Union High School in Union, New Jersey for many years.  In her spare time, Phyllis loved visiting the beach and spending time on the water, especially in Portugal and St. Martin, two locations she often visited with her time-shares over the years.  She was a loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend to many.  Phyllis will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Phyllis Kathleen (Stowers) and Henry Fraser Hellegers, her beloved husband, William Theodore Shultz, and her brother-in-law, Jim Sommers.  Phyllis is survived by her loving sister, Dena Sommers of Brick, New Jersey, her step-daughter, Mary, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered for Phyllis during the visitation hours, approximately 2:00 PM.  In respect of Phyllis’ wishes, she will be privately cremated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
