Peter Uzzolino

Peter Uzzolino, 71, of Seaside Park, New Jersey, passed away on August 6, 2026. Born on August 10, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, he lived a life marked by love, loyalty, friendship, and devotion to his family and community.

Peter was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, where he formed the strong values and lasting friendships that would remain with him throughout his life. He later moved to Middletown in 1983, where he and Vera raised their son with care, pride, and dedication. In 2013, he moved to Matawan, and in 2018 he retired to Seaside Park, a place that reflected his love of the shore and the peaceful beauty of the ocean.

Peter retired as a Local 863 Teamster, scrap metal recycler and the proprietor of Stadium Tavern in Newark, New Jersey, where he shared one of greatest passions for food and drink, he was known for his hard work, reliability, and steady presence. Throughout his working years, he earned the respect of those around him through his strong work ethic and dependable nature. He carried himself with quiet dignity and took pride in doing his job well. Beyond work it was about making lasting bonds and friendships with the people he crossed paths with.

Peter enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and found joy in the moments that mattered most. He loved going on walks, golfing, spending time at the beach, and fishing. He especially enjoyed a good meal shared with his family, where conversation and laughter came easily. Most of all, he loved watching the sunrise on the beach, a peaceful ritual that brought him comfort and happiness. Those who knew Peter will remember his warm spirit and his special ability to make new friends while keeping old friends very close to his heart.

He was the beloved son of the late George N. and Gloria (Gentile) Uzzolino. Peter was also predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Peter Zwingle and Carmine Dente. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Vera L. (Bispo) Uzzolino; his cherished son, Nicholas Uzzolino; his sisters, Frances Zwingle and Georgine Dente; his brother-in-law, Joseph J. Bispo and his wife Ann; and his nieces and nephews, Carmine Dente, Gina Dente, John Dente, Robert Bispo, and Dane Bispo. He is also survived by 10 great-nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory. Peter’s family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Peter had a kind and welcoming nature that made others feel at ease, and his presence brought comfort to those around him. His life was a reflection of devotion to family, appreciation for friendship, and gratitude for the everyday blessings that made life meaningful. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway/ Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey, 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Wednesday August 12, 2026 at Saint Clement Roman Catholic Church, 172 Freneau Avenue Matawan, New Jersey 07747. Peter’s interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road North Arlington, New Jersey 07031.
