Peter Kreiner Obituary

Peter A. Kreiner, 85, of Hazlet, passed away on April 14, 2026, at his home in Hazlet, New Jersey, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on November 15, 1940, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Pierre and Emily (Fieseler) Kreiner.

Peter was raised in Oberursel, Germany, and immigrated to the United States on March 17, 1950, beginning a new chapter in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. He officially became a United States citizen in September of 1958, a milestone that reflected both his gratitude for his new country and the determination that would guide him throughout his life.

After becoming a U.S. citizen, Peter proudly served in the United States Army for six years. His military service took him to Fort Monmouth, where he met the love of his life, Eileen. He also served at Fort Rucker in Alabama, Fort Knox in Kentucky, Fort Meade in Maryland, Fort Bliss in Texas, and spent two years stationed in Bad Herzfeld, Germany, where he graduated from tank school. His service was an important part of his life, and he carried the pride of that experience with him always.

Peter and Eileen were married on January 25, 1964, and together they built a loving home and family in Hazlet, New Jersey. Their marriage was a true partnership, filled with devotion, laughter, and steadfast support. Eileen was his beloved wife and constant companion, and together they created a life centered on family, faith, and shared memories that will be treasured forever.

Following his military service, Peter worked for Hess Oil Company for two years before beginning a long and successful career with Prudential Insurance Company as an Insurance Sales Agent. He dedicated 30 years of service to the company before retiring on February 16, 1996. Even after retirement, he continued to stay active by working part time from 1996 to 2002. Peter approached his work with integrity and commitment, and he earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike through his dependable nature and genuine personality.

Peter was a loving, funny, and spirited man whose presence brought warmth and energy to every room he entered. He enjoyed golf, both playing and watching the game, and he was a devoted New York Yankees fan. These interests brought him joy throughout his life, and he especially appreciated the simple pleasures of a good game, a shared laugh, and time spent with the people he loved most.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 62 years, Eileen (McDonald) Kreiner, his loving daughters, Deborah Pontari and Linda Blum and her husband George; his cherished grandchildren, Brandon Blum (Katie), Nicholas (NGXB) Blum, Hannah Pontari, and Matthew Pontari; his sister-in-law, Marie "Marlie" Kreiner; and many treasured nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his dear "grand-dogs," Cash, Koda, and Murf, who brought him great happiness and companionship. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Emily (Fieseler) Kreiner, and his brother, Charles Kreiner. Peter’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
