Paul J. Hand, 68, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. Paul was born on October 9, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up, as well as Queens, where he met his beloved wife, Beth. On October 2, 1993, Paul and Beth were married and began their life together in Queens, before moving to Long Island. In 2008, they ultimately settled in Hazlet, New Jersey, where they remained to raise their family. Paul was an extremely skilled carpenter and was known for his beautiful woodworking and craftsmanship. In addition, in the early 1980’s Paul was with The Franciscans in Melrose, Massachusetts and Winsted, Connecticut. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed playing the bass guitar and was a music lover. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Dorothy (Hughes) Hand, and his brother, Daniel Hand. Paul is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 31 years, Beth (Defibaugh) Hand, his loving children, Daniel, Kaitlyn, and Casady Hand, and his dear siblings, Thomas Hand and his wife, Carole, Ellen DeLello, and Barbara Taddeo and her husband, Sal, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
In respect of Paul’s wishes, he will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, January 4, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with a prayer service taking place at 6:30 PM, at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
