Patrick K. O'Rourke, 65, of Keyport, who was born on December 12, 1960, in East Orange, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at the age of 65 on February 24, 2026, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey. A man whose life was as vibrant as his personality, Patrick was a beacon of warmth and generosity in the lives of all who knew him.
Although he was born in East Orange, Patrick spent most of his life in the close-knit community of Keyport, Patrick took pride in his hometown. He was a dedicated father, a loving sibling, and a friend to many. His mother, Kathryn Murray, and son, Patrick "P.J." O'Rourke, preceded him in death, as did his siblings, Sharon and Timothy. His legacy continues through his children, John O'Rourke and his partner Liz, Shawn O'Rourke, and Devon O'Rourke and her partner Tim. Patrick's life was further enriched by his life partner, Jane Sanders, his siblings Kathryn, James and his wife Barbara, John, Mildred "Meme", Jamie, Thomas, Frank, Cathrine, and Bertha, his brothers-in-law Skip and Al, and his cherished granddaughter, "my little girl" Rosie, who was the light of his life and lastly an abundance of nieces and nephews.
Patrick was the proud owner and operator of Pat The Tile Man, a business he built with his hands and heart in Keyport. His craftsmanship as a tile layer was more than a profession; it was a passion. He approached each project with the same care and dedication he gave to every aspect of his life.
An avid fisherman, Patrick found solace and joy in the serenity of the open water. He had a heart of gold, and his spirit of giving knew very few bounds. Patrick was always the first to lend a helping hand, whether it was fixing a friend's bathroom, supporting a community event, or simply offering a listening ear. Above all, his love for his children was paramount. He instilled in them the values of hard work, kindness, and the importance of family.
Patrick's absence leaves a void in the community of Keyport and beyond. His infectious laughter, unwavering support, and the unconditional love he gave will be deeply missed by all. As we say goodbye to a man who lived life to the fullest, we take comfort in the cherished memories he leaves behind.
As the sun sets on a life well-lived, we remember Patrick K. O'Rourke not for the sadness of his departure but for the countless memories that he has left us. Rest in peace, dear Patrick, until we meet again.
In respect of Patrick’s wishes, he will be privately cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and our website will be updated at that time.
