Patrick J. O'Hara Sr.

Patrick J. O’Hara, Sr., 63, of Lauderhill, Florida, passed away on April 1, 2026.

Born on May 23, 1963, in Long Branch, New Jersey, Patrick was the beloved son of the late Jane “Carol” (Ashburn) O’Hara. He was raised in Union Beach, New Jersey, where he formed lifelong friendships and created many cherished memories.

In his younger years, Patrick spent time in Santa Barbara, California, where he embraced independence and built lasting friendships. It was there that he discovered his passion for cooking, a talent he would carry with him throughout his life. Patrick went on to build a career in the culinary field and was especially proud of his time at Briody’s of Rumson, a restaurant that became like family to him. He later settled in Lauderhill, Florida.

Patrick will be remembered for his warm sense of humor, generous spirit, and the kindness he extended to those around him. He found joy in bringing people together and sharing his love of cooking.

He is survived by his loving sons, Patrick Jr. and Philip O’Hara; his cherished granddaughter, Ayla Rose; his siblings, Terrence (Melissa), David Scott (Jennie), Thomas, Vincent, Al Morris (Stephanie); and his brother-in-law, Jason Bohal. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, and his dear friend, Benson Schade, whose unwavering friendship meant so much to him.

In addition to his mother, Patrick was predeceased by his beloved sister, Deborah Bohal, and his godson, Todd.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate Patrick’s life at a memorial service on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered by Pastor Barry Mulligan of Hazlet Bible Church at approximately 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
