Patricia (Burns) DeSantis

Patricia Joyce DeSantis (nee Burns), 78 years, born of Elsie Francis and William Joseph Burns of Jersey City, New Jersey passed peacefully at Holiday Care Center in Toms River, New Jersey on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.

“Patty” as she was known to most acquaintances and friends, while growing up, attended St. John’s School, tutored by the Sisters of the Dominican Order.  She then attended Dickenson High School, pursuing a Business course which prepared her for her position with the Marine Midland Bank on Broadway in New York.   Later employed in Newark, New Jersey she met her beloved husband, James. They were married on September 28, 1968 and settled in Hazlet, New Jersey to raise their family.  In 2006 she then relocated to Toms River.

Patty was predeceased by her parents, William and Elsie (nee Allhusen) Burns and her beloved husband, James.  She is survived by her sister, Gloria Pimentel of Thompsons Station, Tennessee and loving children, William, of Keansburg, Maria Olejarczyk, of Toms River, Joseph, of Florence, South Carolina, Thomas, of Manchester, New Jersey, Augustine of Reno, Nevada, Carmella, of Keyport, Jeannette Riker, of Keansburg and James of Toms River.  Patty has loved and nurtured twelve cherished grandchildren and four adored great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visit Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Hwy./Route 35 North, Hazlet 07730 on Sunday, December 20th 2:00 to 5:00 PM; prayer service offered at 2:30 PM and Monday December 21st 9:30-10:15 AM.  Interment will follow Monday morning’s visitation at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ.
