Patricia Dante

Patricia Dante, 87, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at her home in Hazlet, New Jersey, surrounded by the love of her family and the memories of a life well lived.

Patricia was born on July 28, 1939, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where she grew up and met the love of her life, Philip Dante. They were married on September 17, 1960, and built their life together in Brooklyn, where they raised their family with devotion, warmth, and steadfast love. After Philip’s passing, Patricia relocated to Keyport, New Jersey, and about a year ago, she settled in Hazlet with her loving daughter, Michele.

Patricia was a sweet woman with a strong spirit. She was loving and loyal, and those who knew her best will remember her wonderful sense of humor, occasional sarcasm, and sharp wit that made her so memorable. She was a true city girl at heart, yet she also loved nature and the outdoors and had a deep affection for animals. She enjoyed reading, and was gifted at crochet and sewing. She loved music, and was a fabulous dancer in her younger years. She had an appreciation for art and a keen interest in history. Patricia was a wonderful cook and loved to prepare delicious meals for her family and friends.   Most of all, Patricia found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to every gathering, and her family will forever cherish the many memories they shared with her.

Those who knew Patricia will remember her as loving, funny, and friendly. She had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and her kindness touched the lives of many. Her strength carried her through life’s joys and sorrows, and her devotion to her family never wavered. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Patricia was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Mary (Scully) McGinn and was predeceased by her beloved husband, Philip, her five dear brothers and sisters, and her son-in-law, Richard O’Connell. She is survived by her loving children, Michele O’Connell and Paul Dante and his wife, Linda. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Amy O’Connell, Luke Dante, Casey O’Connell, and Lissa Dante, as well as her great-grandson, Liam. Patricia is further survived by many treasured brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Patricia’s memory will remain a treasured part of their lives, and the lessons she taught through her example will continue for generations to come.
