Obituary

Nisa Abdool, fondly known as “Claire” by her family and friends, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in Brooklyn, New York.  Claire was born on June 7, 1955, in Siparia, Trinidad.  Claire grew up in Trinidad and in her twenties immigrated to the United States, settling in Brooklyn, New York, where she has lived for the majority of her life.  Before her retirement, Claire worked at Bear Sterns in New York City.  Most of all, Claire was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend to many.  She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Hamid and Hamida (Mohammed) Abdool.  Claire is survived by her loving siblings, Ken Abdool and his domestic partner Arpini Urquhart, of Toronto, Canada, Rick Abdool of Toronto, Canada, Alisha “Cherry” Abdool of Toronto, Canada, Sharon “Debbie” Teekasingh of Staten Island, New York, Cliff Abdool and his domestic partner Sylwia Lasocla, of Rockaway, New Jersey, Sherina Larrier and her husband, Bennie, of Lincroft, New Jersey, Ronnie Abdool of Staten Island, New York, and Robbie Abdool of Boston, Massachusetts.  Claire also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews, Janelle Welsh, Chenyere Welsh, Craig Teekasingh, Carissa Teekasingh, Keisha Anthonipillai, Julia Abdool, Cherese Teekasingh, Jason Abdool, Abigayle Larrier, Arabella Larrier, and Isabela Lasocka, along with her adored great nieces and nephews, Juliette Teekasingh, Sophia Anthonipillai, Kyah Aliyah O’Brien, Isaiah David Anthonipillai, and Kane O’Brien.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, April 30, 202,2 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home during the visitation hours.  In respect of Claire’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.  Claire’s family will host a repast immediately following the conclusion of her visitation on 25 Waterford Way, Lincroft, New Jersey 07738.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
