Nicholas LoPomo Obituary

Nicholas J. LoPomo, 93, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 24, 2026, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, New Jersey.  Born on February 3, 1933, in Newark, New Jersey, he lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to family, strength of spirit, and a warm presence that touched all who knew him.

Nicholas grew up in Newark, New Jersey, where he met the love of his life, Joyce. The two were married on June 30, 1955, beginning a devoted partnership that would last a lifetime. Ten years later, they settled in Hazlet to raise their family, building a home filled with love, laughter, and the strong values they shared. Family was always at the center of Nicholas’s world, and he took great pride in the life he and Joyce created together.

Before his retirement, Nicholas worked as a self-employed cab driver, primarily in Newark, New Jersey. Through his work, he met many people and became known for his friendly nature and dependable spirit.

Nicholas was a very charismatic and loving man with a heart of gold and a pure, good soul. He was a proud Italian American who deeply loved his culture and the traditions that came with it. He was also an animal lover, a devoted admirer of Frank Sinatra and his music, and a staunch supporter of President Donald J. Trump. He was known for his strength and resilience, having survived lung cancer many years ago, a testament to his determination and courage. Above all else, Nicholas treasured his family, and they were the most important part of his life.

Nicholas was the beloved son of the late Canio and Pasqualina (Talmo) LoPomo. He was also predeceased by his cherished wife, Joyce LoPomo, his daughter Joyce Ann LoPomo, and by his brothers, Vincent, Joseph, Rocco, and Anthony LoPomo. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life, and he carried the love of his family with him always.

He is survived by his loving children, Nicholas C. LoPomo, Canio N. LoPomo, Anthony J. LoPomo and his wife Lisa,  and Paula Anne LoPomo and her long-time companion Rich Parson. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, George N. Hart and his wife Samantha, Angela M. LoPomo, Danielle N. Farr and her husband Richie, and Caitlin S. LoPomo. His legacy continues through his adored great-grandchildren, Gianna Samean, Natalie Farr, Owen Farr, Noah Farr, and Charlotte Rae Hart. He is also survived by many treasured nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever remember his kindness and love.

He will be remembered as loving, charismatic man, whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
