Morton Zaleski, 96, of Union Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey. Morton was born on August 8, 1925 in Newark, New Jersey, where he grew up. On November 26, 1960, Morton and his beloved wife, Marion, were married and began their lives together in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. Shortly after, they moved to Union Beach, New Jersey, where they remained to raise their daughter, Michelle. Before his retirement, Morton worked for AT&T in Holmdel, New Jersey as an Electronic Technician for many years. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served our country during World War II, where he honorably received the Victory Medal and a Bronze Star. In his spare time, Morton enjoyed fishing. In addition, every Saturday Morton volunteered his time for mission work with Faith Reformed Church in Hazlet to deliver food to the homeless in the inner-cities of New Jersey. Morton was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna (Zwozdiak) Zaleski, his beloved wife, Marion (Emker) Zaleski, and his dear siblings, Mary and Stanley Zaleski. Morton is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle Andrews of Union Beach, his dear son-in-law, Douglas Andrews of Keyport, his cherished grandsons, Daniel Miller and his wife, Rebecca, Jacob Andrews and his fianceé, Kirsten Schwedes, and Nicholas Andrews, and his great granddaughters, Grace and Savannah Miller.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning, September 18, 2021 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A church service will be offered for Morton on Saturday morning, September 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Faith Reformed Church, 215 Middle Road, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
