Migdalia Rousset-Lleras

Migdalia Rousset-Lleras, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Migdalia Rousset-Lleras was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, where she grew up until the age of 15, after which she resettled in Brooklyn, New York. While living in Brooklyn, Migdalia met her beloved husband, Julio Rousset, and they were married on December 11, 1964. Migdalia and Julio began their life and family together in Brooklyn, where they had two children, Jacqueline and Julio Jr.  Migdalia and Julio lived in Brooklyn and Puerto Rico during their marriage until her beloved husband’s passing in 1983. After her husband’s passing, Migdalia decided to stay in Puerto Rico to help her ailing father, Julio Lleras. In 2018, Migdalia resettled in Hazlet, New Jersey, to live and spend time with her loving family.
 
Migdalia was a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to everyone in her life. She was a loving, caring, smart, resilient, and independent woman. Migdalia never gave up when faced with challenges and rose above them all. Migdalia loved her family with all her heart and soul but always found time and comfort in helping others in need. Migdalia’s laughter, humor, and feisty spirit will be profoundly missed, and we will hold her in our hearts forever.
 
Migdalia was predeceased by her parents, Julio and Antonia Lleras, her beloved and devoted husband, Julio Rousset, and one brother Alberto Lleras. Migdalia is survived by her loving children, Jacqueline Concepcion and Julio Rousset Jr., son and daughter-in-law Gary Concepcion and Michelle Rousset, grandchildren Gabriella, Christian, and Jason, brothers Fernando, Julio, and Armando Lleras, sister-in-law Sarah Rousset, life companion, Roberto “Ruben” Soto. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Migdalia had some very special family members that, although not related by blood, were as much or more family than one can ever hope or expect. We don’t have space to mention all these special people, but to all her adopted Daughters, Tias, Primas, Hermanas and Friends, we remember, honor and thank you for all your help throughout the years. Without you, it couldn’t have been possible. We will never forget what you did for Mami; we love you and are eternally grateful, thank you.
 
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
