Michael Quaglia Obituary

Michael F. Quaglia, 82, of Long Branch, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.  Michael was born on August 26, 1939, in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he grew up.  Later in life, Michael settled in Holmdel to raise his family, until moving to Long Branch in 2007 with his beloved wife, Patricia.

Michael started his career as a forklift driver at Lily Tulip Company in Holmdel, where he worked for many years.  After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, he diligently worked his way up in his career path, eventually leading to his position as President of Local Union #447, Printing and Press, in New York, New York.   While living in Holmdel, Michael also coached baseball for HYAA.  He truly enjoyed his time spent with the kids and coaching.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time on the water.  He also loved horses, all things Disney, and playing golf whenever possible.  You could always find Michael listening to music and he would find the opportunity to dance with the love of his life, Pat, whenever possible.  Michael adored his family, especially his grandchildren; he was their biggest cheerleader throughout life.  Above all else, Michael was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Marie (Gaynor) Quaglia, his son, Michael F. Quaglia Jr., and his brothers, Anthony and Dennis Quaglia.  Michael is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 21 years, Patricia A. (Harnach) Quaglia, his loving children, Denean Burke and her husband, Michael, of Ocean Twp., Kevin Roth and his partner, Marcus, of San Francisco, CA, Christine Roth and her partner, Michael Norris, of Long Branch, and Kimberly Hall and her husband, Todd, of Monmouth Beach, and his dear sister, Irene Laviola and her husband, John, of Locust.  Michael also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Kierstin Hasenauer and her husband, Francis, John Burke, Dominique Quaglia and her fiancé, Trevor West, and Michael F. Quaglia III and his fiancée, Kayla West, and his great grandchildren, Reilly Grace West, and Michael Francis “Frankie” Quaglia IV, along with one great grandson on the way, and many treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins.
