Michael R. Pellettieri, 76, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, October 13, 2023. Michael was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 24, 1947, to Rocco and Josephine Pellettieri. He grew up in the South Bronx, and often told stories that involved fond memories of his neighborhood and growing up in his grandfather’s bar. Michael met and later married the love of his life, Judith Angelinovich, they were wed on November 22, 1970. In 1976, they moved to Hazlet, New Jersey where together they raised their family.
After teaching for 34 years, most of which were at P.S. 30 in Staten Island, New York, Michael enjoyed his time in retirement walking his dogs on the Hook and spending time with family and friends. He spent many years as an usher at St. Ann’s R.C. church in Keansburg, New Jersey. Above all else Michael was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and teacher. He will be greatly missed, never forgotten, and always loved.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Rocco J. and Josephine (Carfora) Pellettieri. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judith (Angelinovich) Pellettieri, his two devoted children, Michael Pellettieri of River Vale, New Jersey and Julie Pellettieri Cohen and her husband David Cohen of Ocean, New Jersey, his cherished grandchildren, Andrew Cohen, Roxanna Pellettieri and Michael Rocco Pellettieri, his caring sister, Marianne and her husband Sal Licciardello and a daughter in law, Melissa Pellettieri.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Saint Ann Roman Catholic Church, 311 Carr Ave., Keansburg, New Jersey 07734. In respect of Michael’s wishes her will be privately cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Michael to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
