Michael J. McCann Jr.

Michael J. McCann Jr., 43, of Middletown, after a long, courageous battle with esophageal cancer, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 25, 2021.

Michael grew up in Hazlet, NJ, and for the last eight years, resided in Middletown, NJ, with his beautiful family. He was a long-term employee at Precision Pipeline Solutions and was promoted to their sister company Primeline Utility Services as the Director of Operations. Michael lit up every room he entered. He was always there with a story, a joke, a word of advice, or an ear to listen.

Michael was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan. He loved spending time outdoors, fishing, shooting, camping, building bonfires, and swimming in the ocean. He was always at his girls’ games, cheering on the sidelines or coaching. Michael had an adventurous spirit. He was quick to jump in the car for long road trips, even if it was just for Vermont bacon.  Whether snuggled up watching movies, cooking meals, sharing traditions, or teaching his girls the many joys of life, he most enjoyed spending quality time and making memories with his friends and family. Michael showed his tenacity and strength throughout his life, never giving up on things that truly mattered to him.

He was predeceased by his father Michael J. McCann Sr., and survived by all those who knew and loved him: His wife Christina (Vasta) McCann, his three beautiful daughters, Emma, Megan, and Molly, his mother Pamela A. (Smith) McCann, his sister Paige (McCann) Mooney and her husband John, his niece Madison and nephew Jack, his aunt Dawn (Smith) Dzwil and uncle Tom Dzwil, and aunt Maryann McCann.

Friends and family are invited to the visitation at Shore Point Funeral Home, 3269 Hwy/Rt 35 N, Hazlet, NJ, 07730 on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 9:00PM. In respect to Michael’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.
