Michael W. Marks Sr., 67, of Keansburg, New Jersey, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Michael was born on June 27, 1953 in Red Bank, New Jersey and lived most of his life in Keansburg. Before his retirement, Michael worked for the Teamsters Local Union #802 as a driver for many years. Michael was known for his outgoing personality, his talkative nature and friendly demeanor. He had an affinity for history and could be described as a “history buff” amongst his family and friends. In his spare time, Michael enjoyed golfing and loved to travel, especially to his most favorite island, Aruba. He was also an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins and New York Yankees. Above all, Michael was a loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle and will be missed immensely.
He was predeceased by his father, Harold E. Marks, his adoring mother, Lillian G. (DeMio) Marks, who passed away just one day prior to Michael, his dear brother, William Marks, and his cherished granddaughter, Charlotte Marks. Michael was also predeceased by his beloved dogs, Jingles, Lucy and Benji. Michael is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Theresa (Bolger) Marks, his loving sons, Michael W. Marks Jr. and fiancé, Ashley Alicea, of Keansburg, Joseph Marks and his wife, Rebecca, of Middletown, and Ryan Marks and his fiancé, Jacqueline White, of Keyport, his dear siblings, Harold Marks, James Marks and his wife, MaryEllen, and Peggyann Marks, his sister-in-law, Patricia Marks, and his cherished grandchildren, Adrian Sabatino, Kirsten, Addison, Alahna, and Maverick Marks. Michael also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday morning, December 10, 2020 from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday morning, December 10, 2020 at 10:00 AM at The Catholic Church of St. Ann, 311 Carr Avenue, Keansburg, New Jersey 07734. In respect of Michael’s wishes, he will be privately cremated. At a later date, Michael’s remains will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown/Red Bank.
