Michael Hart Obituary

Michael Hart, 69. known to family and friends simply as Mike, passed away on August 12, 2026, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey,  surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 7, 1957, in Staten Island, New York, Michael lived a life marked by adventure, warmth, and devotion to the people he loved. He enjoyed the time he spent living and traveling in various areas around the country, and those experiences helped shape the friendly and open-hearted man that so many came to know and cherish. Michael was adventurous by nature, and he carried that spirit with him throughout his life, meeting each new chapter with curiosity and good humor.

Michael met the love of his life, Debra Conners Hart, and the two were married on May 17, 1997. Following their wedding, they made their home in Jackson, New Jersey, where they remained and built a life together filled with love, companionship, and shared memories. Their marriage of 29 years was a source of great joy to Michael, and he was deeply devoted to Debra in every season of life. Together, they created a home that reflected his loving and friendly nature, and he treasured the comfort and happiness that came from being with the person who knew him best,   For many years, Michael enjoyed a dedicated career as a salesman for Value City Furniture in Middletown, where he was respected for his hard work, reliability, and easy manner with others. It was there that he met Debra, a meeting that would change his life forever. His work was more than a job to him, as he took pride in serving others and in the relationships he formed along the way. Michael was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 21, in Middletown, New Jersey, an association that reflected his sense of community and his respect for those who serve. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing pool, a pastime that brought him enjoyment and friendly competition. Above all else, Michael loved spending time with family and friends. He valued togetherness, laughter, and the simple moments that become the most meaningful memories over time.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Patrick and Joan Ann (Rowan) Hart, his dear sister, Maureen Livings, and his treasured dog, Apollo. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life. Michael is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Debra Conners Hart; his caring brothers, Timothy Hart and his wife Chatter of Matawan, New Jersey, and Charles Hart of Hazlet, New Jersey; his fond brothers-in-law, Jeff Conners and his wife Maryann, Jim Conners and his wife Beth, Mark Conners and his wife Donna, and Glen Conners and his fiancée Jess Gabree; and his kindhearted nieces and nephews, Billy, Stephanie, Patrick, Colleen, Anne, Jack, Samantha, Kayla, and Olivia. Michael will be remembered as a loving, friendly, and adventurous man whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. His life was defined by devotion to family, loyalty to friends, and a genuine appreciation for the people and moments that mattered most.
