Michael Bezio Obituary

Michael “Mike” A. Bezio, 67, of Hazlet passed away unexpectedly, with his loving wife by his side on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey.  Mike was born on September 10, 1957, in Plattsburgh, New York. Upon graduating from high school, Mike proudly joined the United States Navy and served his country honorably until 1978 when he then moved to New Jersey.  He met and later married the love of his life, Jeanne O’Sullivan, on September 5, 1981.  Shortly after they were married, they moved to Plattsburgh, New York where together they opened and operated a restaurant called M&J’s Place.  Their only child, Meghan, was born while they lived in New York. In 1990, they moved to Hazlet, New Jersey, where they remained.

Mike was a self-employed general contractor in the construction industry and the proprietor of Keyport Waterfront Studios.  Mike had an enjoyment for antiques, art, visiting flea markets, and taking joy rides with Jeanne.  His real love was buying gifts for his three adoring granddaughters. Mike will be most remembered for his devotion to helping others, as well as being a giver and doer for those less fortunate. Above all, Mike was a devoted husband, son, father, brother, son-in-law and uncle.  He will be forever loved, greatly missed, and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward, and Judy (Blake) Bezio, and his brothers Robin, James, and Peter Bezio.  Mike is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jeanne O’Sullivan Bezio; his caring daughter, Meghan Gross and her husband Michael; and his cherished grandchildren Evalina, Mairin, and Alise. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Bezio and his wife Diane, Sally MacDonald and her husband Kenneth, Susan Bezio, Melissa Reilly and her husband John, his sister-in-law Lynn Bezio; his mother-in-law Elaine O’Sullivan; as well as many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and let us not forget his predeceased “Grand puppy”, his beloved Burly.

In respect of Michael’s wishes, he will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
