Michael Abatemarco

Michael Abatemarco, 77, of Matawan, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at home. Michael was born June 12, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up. In the early 60’s he moved to Hazlet, New Jersey and then moved to Fort Lauderdale in the mid 1970’s. In 1996, he reunited with his high school sweetheart Theresa, got married and started their life together in Florida. Michael was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Above all else, Michael was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed, forever loved and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine (Persico) Abatemarco and his brother John Abatemarco. Michael is survived by wife of 28 years, Theresa (Forte) Abatemarco, his children, Audra, Sabra, Anthony, Marie, Daniel and George, his 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph Abatemarco and Micki Abatemarco, Peter Abatemarco and Diane Abatemarco and Joyce Abatemarco. 

 In respect to Michael’s wishes, he was privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. There will be a prayer service during the visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Saint Clements Roman Catholic Church, 172 Freneau Avenue Matawan, New Jersey 07747.
