Mathew David George

Mathew David George, 37, of Howell, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Mathew was born on August 31, 1987, in Livingston, New Jersey, and grew up in East Hanover. He was a graduate of Hanover Park High School, class of 2005, and thereafter graduated from Universal Technical Institute.

Mathew resided in Ocean Township and Staten Island before settling in Howell, New Jersey. Mathew worked as a union glazier in the New York and New Jersey areas. He was currently working as a glazier for the New York City Housing Authority. He was a loving son, father, brother, nephew, and friend to many. Mathew will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Mathew had a big heart and a gentle, vibrant spirit. He found comfort in life’s simple pleasures—relaxing under the sun, spending quiet moments at the beach, and sharing a good meal. He had a deep appreciation for music, especially heavy metal, which brought him both energy and joy. The ocean, the warmth of the sun, and peaceful days by the shore were where he felt most at ease.

Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his daughters. He loved making them laugh, playing with them, and watching them grow. He cherished the time spent with his family, holding close the moments that brought them together.

He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Deborah (Otte) George. Mathew is survived by his loving father, David George; his cherished daughters, Nola and Rylan George; and his dear sister, Elizabeth Dorsi and her husband, Gary. Mathew also leaves behind his treasured aunt and uncle, Linda and Glenn Otte; his nephew, Thomas Dorsi; the mother of his children, Lindsey Bontempo; extended family, Amanda Ojeda and Tyler Cruz, and many close friends who will always remember his kindness, loyalty, and warmth.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Tuesday morning, July 1, 2025, from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home on Tuesday morning at approximately 10:15 AM.
