Maryann Scudero, 64, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday evening, September 27, 2021 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. She was born Maryann Hibert on October 6, 1956 in Enterprise, Alabama. Maryann lived in Alabama with her family until she was four years old, when they moved to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where she was raised. Maryann and her husband, John, met in Brooklyn and were married there on August 3, 1985, where they remained to raise their family. Approximately 20 years ago, they settled in Holmdel, New Jersey. Maryann was currently working as a junior high school math teacher for St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral School in Metuchen, New Jersey. Before moving to New Jersey, she also worked as a catholic school teacher in Brooklyn for many years. Most of all, Maryann was a beloved wife, mother, sister, niece, aunt, and friend to many. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Curci) Hibert. Maryann is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 36 years, John Scudero, her loving son, Michael Scudero, her dear daughter-in-law, Andrea Cruz Quinonez, her dear brother, William Hibert and his wife, Antoinette, of Staten Island, New York, her sister-in-law, Linda Gioeli, of Long Island, New York, her brother-in-law, Louis Scudero and his wife, Patricia, Long Island, New York, her cherished aunts and uncles, Frances Curci (also Maryann's Godmother), Nicholas Curci and his wife, Martha, and Kate Curci, along with many more adoring aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733 on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday morning, October 1, 2021 from 8:15 to 9:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, October 1, 2021 at 10:15 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Cathedral, 32 Elm Avenue, Metuchen, New Jersey 08840. Interment will follow at approximately 12:00 PM at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Road, Middletown, New Jersey 07701.
