Mary Catherine Kant

Mary Catherine Kant, 95, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021 at Anchor Care in Hazlet.  Mary was born on March 29, 1925 in Belleville, New Jersey, where she grew up and lived for the majority of her life.  Approximately 15 years ago, she relocated to Keyport, New Jersey, where she remained until recently moving to Hazlet.  Before her retirement, Mary worked for the Newark Parks Commission for Essex County.  Mary was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.  She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, John Joseph and Minnie Louise (Heide) Kant, her brothers, John Joseph Kant Jr. and William Guston Kant, her sister-in-law, Jane Kant, and her dear nephew.  Mary is survived by her loving brother, James Vincent Kant and his wife, Mary F., of Hazlet, her sister-in-law, Bernadette Kant, eight cherished nieces and nephews, five adored great nieces and nephews and one treasured great-great niece.  

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of Mary's wishes, she was privately cremated.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 9:30 AM at The Church of St. Catherine of Laboure, 110 Bray Avenue, North Middletown, New Jersey 07748.  Interment of Mary's cremains will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 712 Grove Street, Upper Montclair, New Jersey 07043.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
