Mary Theresa Rugar

Mary Theresa Rugar, 70, of East Brunswick, New Jersey, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at JFK University Medical Center, Edison, New Jersey.  Mary was born on August 19, 1954, in Jersey City, New Jersey to her parents, Esselstyn and Catherine (Reddy) Rugar.  She was born and raised in Jersey City and moved to Bayonne, New Jersey in 2010. She moved to East Brunswick in 2023, where she remained.  Mary was dedicated to the food service industry, working as a waitress for the Bayonne Diner in Bayonne, New Jersey. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed all types of arts and crafts.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Esselstyn and Catherine (Reddy) Rugar and her brother-in-law, James Paul Zitzman Sr. Mary is survived by her loving sister, Joan Zitzman, her caring nephew James Paul Zitzman and his wife Jennifer as well as her great niece and nephew, Donald James Zitzman and Kylie Rae Zitzman.  Mary was a loving and caring daughter, sister and aunt.  She will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten.

In respect of Mary’s wishes she will be privately cremated.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at Saint Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor, New Jersey   08879.  For more information, directions or to send condolences to the family, please visit www.shorepointfh.com.
