Marjorie "Peg" (Leveille) Downie

Marjorie Anne Downie, fondly known as "Peg", of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023 in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Peg was born on October 25, 1930, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, where she grew up and was a graduate of Pottstown High School.  Peg moved to New Jersey in the early 1960’s and started her family.  Throughout her life, she lived and worked mainly in Verona and Cedar Grove.  Peg joined the staff of King’s Supermarkets in Verona where she worked for 17 years until retiring in 1996.  Peg’s hobbies included cooking, gardening, reading, pet care, and bird watching.

She was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Mary (Heckman) Leveille, two sisters, LaRue Leighton and Gloria Astheimer, and by two brothers Robert Leveille and James Leveille.  Peg is survived by her son, Dave Downie, her daughter, Anne Sacco, her brother, Dave Leveille, her four grandchildren, Danielle, Diana, David, and Matt, and many nieces and nephews. She was a kind, caring, and wonderful lady who will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
