Marilyn K. Moran, 86, of Middletown passed away unexpectedly at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel on Sunday, May 14, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. Marilyn graduated from Holy Rosary Academy in Union City, NJ where she had won a full scholarship in 1956. She married her husband, Raymond Moran on January 25, 1958. Marilyn was a very talented dancer and singer. While Raymond was in school, Marilyn had 5 children all while receiving her degree and working full time. Marilyn enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout Europe and various parts of the world. In her younger years, Marilyn enjoyed spending her summers in Greenwood Lake, NJ swimming and doing other activities.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Raymond F. Moran, her son, Patrick J. Moran, her parents, Lawrence and Jeanette (Deege) Lewis, her mother-in-law and father in law, Raymond A. and Catherine (Nolan) Moran, and her sister in law, Catherine Duncan. She is survived by her son, Sean Moran of Jackson, NJ, her daughters and their husbands, Tara and Alan Dean of Bedford, NH, Moira and Tom Ellis of Northport, FL and Erin and Robert Dunn of Hazlet, NJ, her loving grandchildren, Joseph (Emma) Prentiss, Shavawn (Chris) Waelsch, Ryan (Jill) Dean, Shannon Dean, Christopher (Sami) Moran, Robert L. Dunn (Madison), Matthew Moran, Megan J. Dunn, Jake Ellis and Amy Ellis, and her great grandchildren, Harper, Audrey and Paige Prentiss, Isabelle and Henry Waelsch, Logan and Lucas Dean, and Robert Patrick Dunn (Or Bubba as Marilyn loved to call him). Marilyn also leaves behind her loving sister, Sharon and her husband William Leahy of South Bend, Indiana, her loving brothers, Edward and his wife Judith Lewis of Maplewood, NJ, James and his wife Mary Lewis of NY, NY and Kevin Lewis of Villages, FL, her brother-in-law William Duncan (Lenora) of Ocala, FL, and her sister-in-law Margaret Mary and her husband Vincent Morelli of Lancaster, PA. She is also survived by many, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday morning, May 23, 2023 from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Mary Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Road, Middletown, New Jersey 07748. In respect of her wishes, Marilyn will be privately cremated.
