Marilyn Levy Obituary

Marilyn Levy, 86, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 10, 2020 at Hackensack Meridian Health Care in Shrewsbury.  She was born Marilyn Friedman on March 15, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Coney Island.  On October 14, 1950, Marilyn and her husband, Jack, were married and began their life together in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.  They remained in Bensonhurst to raise their family and 15 years ago settled in Middletown, New Jersey.  Before retirement and moving to New Jersey, Marilyn worked in the retail industry at various women’s clothing stores and bridal boutiques, mainly located on 86th Street in Brooklyn.

Marilyn was a unique, strong woman whose beautiful face equally matched her beautiful soul and personality on the inside.  She was an extremely passionate woman and she always put her whole heart into the things she believed in and loved.  Above all else, Marilyn adored her children and especially her grandchildren.  Her family was her life and she was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother whose love knew no bounds.

Marilyn always prided herself in her meticulous appearance and was an avid believer in the importance of self-presentation as a reflection of oneself.  She loved the color purple and regardless of what color she was wearing, Marilyn always made sure everything matched from head to toe.  Her family also described her as one of President Donald Trump’s biggest supporters.

She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Frances (Berger) Friedman and her sister, Renee Kuritsky.  Marilyn is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 69 years, Jack Levy, her loving children, Sharon Levy and her life-long partner, Geraldine, of Middletown, Wayne Levy and his wife, JoAnn, of Leonardo, and Glen Levy and his wife, Marlene, of Oviedo, Florida, along with her dear sister, Sandra Goldstein and her cherished grandchildren, Justin, Samantha, Brandon, Tyler and Darren Levy.  Marilyn will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 0730.  In respect of Marilyn’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.  For information or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
