Marc Alan Jackstadt, 73, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey. He was born on October 28, 1948, to Alfred and Evelyn (Mullin) Jackstadt in Elizabeth, NJ. He later moved to Leonardo where he grew up as a child, graduated from Middletown High School and went on to raise his family. Marc proudly served his country on the front lines of the Vietnam war along with his lifelong friend of over 60 years, Ronnie Newell. Marc returned from the war in 1970 to work for International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) in Union Beach for over 45 years until his retirement. If you knew Marc, aka Lumpy, you would remember him making his way around town, or in his lump chair, in his proud Vietnam Veteran hat, his Allied Fire & Safety t-shirt and always wearing a jacket. He was also a volunteer fire fighter with the Brevent Park Fire Company and a member of the American Legion Post 338 and VFW Post 9129. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many and will be missed.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Evelyn, his soulmate and wife of 50 years, Linda C. Jackstadt, and his sister, Lynn Sculthorpe. Marc is survived by his loving sons, Marc Jackstadt and his wife, Meredith, of Barnegat, and Michael Jackstadt and his wife, Johanna, of Holmdel and his cherished grandchildren, Madelyn, Griffin, Ryan, and Emma.
