Mafalda Amadeo, 91, of Shrewsbury, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Brandywine Living at The Sycamore. She was born Mafalda Troiano on November 18, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. In 1963, Mafalda and her husband, Salvatore, were married and began their lives together in Rosedale (Queens), New York. Later on, they retired to Valley Stream and approximately two years ago, Mafalda settled in Shrewsbury. Before her retirement, Mafalda worked for Dime Savings Bank in Valley Stream for many years. In her spare time, she loved playing Bingo. Above all, Mafalda was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was predeceased by her parents, Gabriel and Josephine (Leggerio) Troiano, her beloved husband, Salvatore Amadeo, and nine dear siblings. Mafalda is survived by her loving daughters, Diane J. D'Alessio and her husband, Lou, of Red Bank, New Jersey, and Donna Amadeo of Amityville, New York, her dear sisters, Gloria Bruno and Rita Doto, her cherished grandchildren, Louis D'Alessio and his wife, Bridget, Michael D'Alessio and his wife, Samantha, and Gina Karatzia and her husband, Michael, along with her adored great grandchildren, Louis, Ella, Mary, Peyton, Logan, Maxwell, Saylor, and Michael. Mafalda will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday morning, February 16, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning, February 16, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07730. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York 11735.
