Madeline Pepe Obituary

Madeline F. Pepe, a woman of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital North in Tampa, FL. Born on August 17, 1932, in New York City, NY, Madeline's life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness and devotion.

The daughter of Ignatius and Louise (Pitelli) Dasaro, Madeline grew up in the vibrant streets of New York city. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Antoinette Chilelli, but her legacy is carried on by her adoring family. Madeline's loving and caring son, Joseph Pepe, and his wife Jacqueline, along with her grandson George Martin III and his wife Alyssa, and her treasured great-grandchildren, George Martin IV and Callahan Jack Martin, survive her. They will forever cherish the memories and the love she so generously shared.

Madeline's journey through life was marked by a profound commitment to her family and her faith. She met the love of her life, Nicholas, and they united in marriage on February 6, 1954. Their love story was one for the ages, and together they built a life filled with joy and companionship. They lived in Brooklyn from 1954 until 1997 when they moved to Middletown, New Jersey. Following Nicholas's untimely passing in 2010, Madeline finally decided to move to Tampa, FL, in 2022 to be closer to her son. Professionally, Madeline dedicated many years of service as a tax preparer for H&R Block in both Brooklyn and later in Hazlet. Her meticulous work and genuine care for her clients earned her respect and admiration within the community. Her colleagues and clients alike will remember her for her dedication, commitment, and endurance having worked there for over 35 years.

A devout Christian, Madeline's faith was the cornerstone of her life. It guided her actions and provided comfort and strength through all of life's seasons. Her interests were a reflection of her love for life and family. An excellent cook and spent time sowing, she also found joy in playing cards as well as playing bingo. But above all, family was the center of her universe. She was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence was a gift to all who knew her.  Madeline's character was the embodiment of love, kindness, and selflessness. These words not only describe her but also the way she lived her life each day. She approached every person and every situation with a heart full of compassion and a willingness to give of herself.

Madeline F. Pepe will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have felt the warmth of her embrace and the generosity of her spirit. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take solace in knowing that she lived for 93 years, and that her legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the love she spread.
