Madeline Ongaro Obituary

Madeline Ongaro, 95, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026. She was born on April 9, 1931, in Bayonne, New Jersey, and lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, her home, and the many people who were fortunate enough to know her.

Madeline was born and raised in Bayonne, where she spent her early years and built the foundation of the life she would later share with her beloved husband, Frederick Ongaro, who predeceased her. Bayonne remained close to her heart throughout her life, and it was there that she and Frederick raised their family with love, care, and strong family values. In 2023, she moved to Holmdel, where she spent her later years surrounded by the comfort of family and the memories she had created over a lifetime.

She was the daughter of the late Domenick and Filomena (LoGuidice) Neri and the sister of the late Constance Straka. Madeline was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Robert Protocollo. She is survived by her loving daughters, Louise Ongaro, Joan Ongaro, and Madeline Protocollo. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Michele Szczesniak and her husband Peter, Justin Burg and his wife Luiza, Mark Protocollo and his wife Erika, and Jonathan Burg and his wife Bevlin Blake. Her legacy continues through her treasured great-grandchildren, Bella Burg, Stella Szczesniak, Vivianna Protocollo, Peter Szczesniak, Frederick Burg, and Sofia Protocollo.

Madeline devoted herself to her family as a homemaker, a role she embraced with pride and grace. She was known for the warmth of her home and the care she gave to those around her. She loved to cook and sew, and these talents were expressions of the love and attention she poured into her family life. Her kitchen and her sewing projects were part of the many ways she showed her affection, creating comfort, beauty, and lasting memories for those she loved.

Above all, Madeline will be remembered as a loving woman whose greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured every visit, every conversation, and every shared moment, and her family was the center of her world. Her gentle presence, kind heart, and unwavering devotion left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Madeline Ongaro will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all whose lives she touched. Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and the quiet strength of a woman who gave so much of herself to others. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those who carry her love forward.
