Luz M. (Osorio) Rodriguez

Luz M. Rodriguez, 91, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 2, 2020 at Care One King James.  She was born Luz M. Osorio in Corozal, Puerto Rico.  Luz grew up in Puerto Rico and remained there until her mid-twenties, when she relocated to New York City.  Shortly after, she settled in Brooklyn, New York, where she raised her family and remained for many years.  Approximately 15 years ago, Luz moved to Keyport, New Jersey, before recently settling in Middletown.  Luz was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

She was predeceased by her parents, Severiano and Maria (Negron) Osorio, and her siblings, Rosa, Mario, and Carmen.  Luz is survived by her loving children, Ileana Szewczyk and her husband, Richard, of Middletown, and Edgar Rodriguez and his wife, Stephanie, of New Hyde Park, New York, her dear sisters, Petra Rodriguez, Iris and Gladys, and her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren, Isabella and Sophia.  Luz will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday morning, August 6, 2020 from 9:45 to 10:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered on Wednesday during the evening visitation hours.  Interment will take place following Thursday morning's visitation hours at Fair View Cemetery, 456 State Highway 35, Middletown, New Jersey 07701.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of 50 persons allowed in the funeral home at one time.  In order to accommodate all of Luz's family and friends, we ask that you please be brief while visiting in order to make room for additional guests to pay their respects; we thank you for your understanding during this time. Face protection is also required as per state regulations.
