Lorraine M Tonks

Lorraine M. Tonks, 95, of Aberdeen, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey.  Lorraine was born in Newark, New Jersey on May 27, 1929, to her parents, James and Mildred (Haberstroh) Smith. She met the love of her life, Charles F. Tonks in Irvington, New Jersey and they we married on April 28, 1951. Together they moved to Union Beach in 1955 and made their final move to Aberdeen in 1990. Lorraine was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, New Jersey, where she was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She loved spending time with her family, especially attending sporting events, cheering on her children and later her grandchildren. 

Lorraine is predeceased by her adoring parents, James and Mildred (Haberstroh) Smith, her beloved husband, Charles F. Tonks, her three caring brothers, James Smith, Thomas Smith and Eugene Smith. She is survived by her loving children, Keith Tonks and his wife Cindy of Whiting, New Jersey, Craig Tonks of Aberdeen, Kevin Tonks and wife Janice, Boynton Beach, Florida, Brian Tonks and his wife Debbie of Dania Beach, Florida, Karen North and her husband Tom of Middletown, New Jersey and Carleen Sanchez and her husband Phil, of Keyport, New Jersey, her cherished grandchildren, Jill, Keith, Michelle, Kyle, Justin, Darin, Ryan, Connor, Caitlin and Jamie, her treasured great grandchildren, McKenna, Jordan, Carter, Hayden, Ava, Blake, Laci, Brianna, Everett, Viola and James.  Lorraine was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.  She will be forever missed, always loved and never forgotten. 

Family and friends may visit on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:15 to 10:00 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 NJ-36, Union Beach, New Jersey.
