Lorraine Chielli, 75, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, November 10, 2025, at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born Lorraine Ferrazzano on August 29, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, she grew up there and met the love of her life, Lawrence Chielli. On her 20th birthday—August 29, 1970—Lorraine and Lawrence married and began their life together in Brooklyn. In 1985, they settled in Middletown, where they raised their son, Larry, and built a home filled with love and laughter.
Lorraine worked for many years as an insurance agent at Allstate on Main Street in Matawan. But to those who knew her, she was a creative spirit. She loved crafting, regularly attending fairs and shows to support local artists and share her own handmade creations. Her creativity extended into the kitchen, where she was always “whipping something up”—from her famous stromboli to her beloved banana nut bread—each dish was made with unmistakable care.
Yet beyond her talents, what inspired those around her most was her strength and resilience. Lorraine was diagnosed with MS at 43, and though the disease brought challenges, she never allowed it to define her. She embraced life fully—whether playing the slot machines in Atlantic City, having breakfast with Goofy at Disney, or enjoying a good shopping spree at Kohl’s. Her spirit was joyful, determined, and endlessly loving. Her infectious laugh and sparkling smile lit up every room and warmed the hearts of everyone around her.
Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten by all who were blessed to know her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Mary (Parmigiani) Ferrazzano, her brother-in-law, Al China, and her cherished nephew, Christopher China. Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Lawrence Chielli; her loving son, Larry Chielli, of Middletown; and her devoted sister, Linda China, of Holmdel.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 7:00–9:00 PM, and on Friday morning, November 14, 2025, from 8:30–9:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
