Lorraine D. Aitkens, 87,  a woman of generosity and kindness, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, on February 2, 2026, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey. She was born on June 9, 1938, in Union City, New Jersey.  Lorraine with her husband, Robert moved to North Bergen, New Jersey before moving to Brick, New Jersey. Lorraine spent the last seven years in Union Beach living with her daughter, Sue and her family.  Lorraine's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds.

Together with her beloved husband, Robert, Lorraine co-owned and operated B&L Dolls, a business that not only provided joy to its customers but also served as a hub to many craft shows and flea markets.  Her commitment to her faith, was proof, as she lived a life exemplifying Christian values and virtues. She was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, New Jersey.

Lorraine's interests were a reflection of her love for life and family. An avid Met's fan, she found joy in the thrills of the game and the community it fostered. Her skills in baking and cooking were legendary, and her kitchen was the heart of many family gatherings. Above all, Lorraine's greatest joy was spending time with her family, particularly "the kids," who were the light of her life and her most precious treasures.

Described by those who knew her as generous, loving, and kind. She had the rare ability to make everyone feel special and valued, and her presence was a source of comfort and happiness to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Lorraine's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, care, and selflessness. Her memory will be honored and celebrated by all the lives she touched.

Lorraine was the cherished matriarch of a family that adored her deeply. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Martha (Gilkenson) Ohlandt, and her siblings, Elaine, May, Tess, Millie, Harry, and Eddie. Her legacy continues through her loving children, Christopher Aitkens and his wife Gayeann, of Hazlet, New Jersey; Susan Roos and her husband Richard of Union Beach, New Jersey; Lynne Prinzo and her husband Angelo of Woodridge, New Jersey; and Eric Aitkens and his wife Luisa also of Woodridge, New Jersey. Her cherished grandchildren, Kristen and Dean Stephenson, Jamie and Mark Yakencheck, Jackie and Jim Smith, Alex and Alexa Aitkens, Ricky Roos, Erica and Tom Muszynski, and Ally and Andrew Galligan, along with her adored great-grandchildren, Thomas, Nora, Evan, Brian, Maddie, Delaney, Archer, Ashton, Austin, Jake, and Cali.
