Lolita Thomson, 89, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Hazlet, New Jersey. Lolita was born on April 19, 1932 in Long Branch, New Jersey. She grew up in Bayshore Area before settling in Hazlet, New Jersey, Lolita was a retired travel agent for Tri Star Travel in Old Bridge, New Jersey. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s United Methodist Church where she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Lolita will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents, Vivian (Applegate) and Thomas Boardwick, her beloved husband, Kenneth Thomson, her siblings, Frank Boardwick, Eleanor Zilinski, and Naomi Summers, and her brother-in-law, Russell Zilinski. Lolita is survived by her loving children, Debra Nute and her husband, Garry of Australia, Lynn Christopher and her husband, George of Hazlet, New Jersey, Ronald Thomson of Montclair, New Jersey, Kenneth Thomson and his wife, Elizabeth of Hazlet, New Jersey, and Glenn Thomson and his wife, Mary of Lakewood, New Jersey, her cherished grandchildren, Kenneth Christopher and his wife, Melissa, Christopher Nute, Stacy Lavin and her husband, Eric, Casey, Stefanie, Erin, Lauren and Ryan Thomson, her treasured great-grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan and Zack, and her dear sister-in-law, Charlotte Boardwick, and her brother-in-law, William Summers.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered on Friday afternoon at 12:15 PM at the funeral home. A committal service and interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Shoreland Memorial Gardens in Hazlet, New Jersey.
