Lois Hoffmann Obituary

Lois F. Hoffmann, 93, of Hazlet, New Jersey passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Care One @ Holmdel, Holmdel, New Jersey.  Lois was born on June 7, 1931, in Chesapeake, Ohio where she grew up until moving to New York City, New York. While in New York City, she met the love of her life, John Ted Hoffmann, they later wed on November 29, 1952.  Together they moved to Hazlet, New Jersey where they raised their family.  Lois enjoyed working as a “Lunch Lady” for Beers Street School, she retired after working there for over 30 years. 

She had a love for crocheting and visiting both Atlantic City and Las Vegas with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her wonderful baking and was affectionately known as the “cookie lady”. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a devoted, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.  She will be forever loved, always missed and never forgotten.  

She is predeceased by her parents, Dennis and Ethel (Ellis) White, her loving husband, John T. Hoffmann, her brother, Dale White, and her sisters, Alma Jean Dundun and Betty White. She is survived by her caring children, Valerie Poling and her husband Mark of Keyport, New Jersey, Eric Hoffmann and his wife Andrea of Bridgewater, New Jersey, Roger Hoffmann and his wife Cheryl of Parlin, New Jersey and Dawn Engelhardt of Hazlet, New Jersey, her siblings ,Dawn White and his wife Judy of Sarasota, Florida,  Helen Murphy of New York City, New York and Barbara Rusta of Glen Bernie, Maryland, her cherished grandchildren, Mark Poling, Lindsay Fischer and her husband Matt, Scott Poling, Dennis Hoffmann, Amber Engelhardt, Tara Engelhardt, Timothy Hoffmann and Carly Hoffmann, her great grandchildren, Brandon Fischer and Cory Fischer as well as  numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, April 7th, 2025 from 11:00AM until 11:45 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey.
