Lisa R Sutain Terody

Lisa R. Sutain Terody, 57, of Union Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, July 22, 2025.  She was born on December 17,1967, in Brooklyn, New York. Lisa grew up in Brooklyn and it was there that she met the love of her life, Stephen Terody. Lisa and Stephen dated and were later married on July 25, 1999. They moved to Staten Island in 2000 and in 2005, they settled in Union Beach, New Jersey, where they remained to raise their family.  Lisa retired in 2023 after 35 years of teaching at PS, 329, Coney Island, New York. Her commitment to teaching was unwavering, always putting her students first. Lisa will be fondly remembered for being  loving, caring, generous in spirit, and always thinking of others.  She had a love for the outdoors, fishing and boating put a smile on her face. 

Lisa was predeceased by beloved father, Alan Sutain and her stepfather, Hal Dorn. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Stephen Terody, her dear mother, Gail Dorn, her cherished children, Alex Terody and Stephanie Terody, her caring siblings, Corey Dorn and his wife Diane, Stephen Dorn, Melissa Sutain Mendelson and her husband Eric and Marla Sutain.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Lisa was devoted, daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.  She will be greatly missed, always loved and never forgotten. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35, Hazlet, New Jersey, 07730.  A Religious Service will be held at the funeral home at 5:00 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, officiated by Rabbi Malinger.  In respect of Lisa’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.  For more information, directions or to send condolences to the family, please visit www.shorepointfh.com.
