Lisa Marie Hediger

Lisa Marie Hediger, 60, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 8, 2021.  She was born on August 13, 1960 in South Amboy, New Jersey, and grew up in Cliffwood Beach. She moved to Bradley Beach, where she lived for 25 years, and eventually settled in Whiting. Lisa was a licensed optician and worked for Costco in their Marlboro location. She was a woman of many traits, most prominent being how loving and caring she was for others. Lisa was known as being extremely helpful and thoughtful whenever someone needed something. She enjoyed playing piano and writing creative literature, and of course reading. Lisa was also very fond of kayaking, and earlier in life, horseback riding, and at one point, owned her own horse, Honey. She loved animals and working with the Rescue Ridge animal shelter and adoption location. Lisa volunteered frequently there, and would also go to places like Petsmart to feed the animals. Lisa was the true embodiment of a caring and loving soul.

Lisa was predeceased by her parents Robert Hediger Sr. and Geraldine Hediger, and her nephews Kyle O’Leary, and Vincent Sampino. She is survived by her siblings Nancy Bentley and her husband Anthony, of Old Bridge, Robert Hediger Jr., of Whiting, and Karen O’Leary and her husband Daniel of Jackson, her nieces and nephews Jenna Martinez and her husband Adrian, Daniel O’Leary, Lauren O’Leary, Brittany O’Leary, Christopher Bentley, Diana Bentley, and Tony Bentley Jr., her great nieces and great nephews Aaron, Brianna, Justin, Elijah, and Madison, and her beloved cats Sirius and Argo. Lisa will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of Lisa’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.  Lisa’s cremated remains will be laid to rest with her parents, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Keyport, New Jersey at a later date to be announced.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Lisa to the Rescue Ridge or the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
